Hera Hehr
"An Angel who lived in the body of a dog."
This portion of my site is dedicated to Hera, a real Angel who lived in the body of a dog. Hera had to bear so much physical and emotional hardship in her lifetime, but I want her to know that all the trauma she endured was not in vain, and will never be forgotten. In her memory, I have created this site to help people understand how to treat animals with more compassion, consideration and respect so that other animals will have happier, more fulfilling lives.

On October 26th, 2006, Hera "moved on." Later that day, Hera's guardian Claudia Hehr sent this letter to everyone whose life had been touched by
Hera.
An Angel Went back to Heaven
October 26th, 2006
Early this morning on October 26th, 2006, Hera left her physical body, only three weeks short of her 12th birthday.
Hera,
You are my guide, confidant, best friend, teacher and soulmate. You were truly an Angel in the body of a dog. Hera, I owe you so much. You have
taught me about health and life.
Your teachings will be like a raindrop in the ocean. The ripples of the drop will grow stronger and stronger and bigger and bigger until they
form strong waves which will end up touching many beautiful souls, both in animal and human form.
Hera, you are an inspiration to us all. You endured much physical hardship both to learn and to teach. You came to learn patience, from which you graduated with an A+, and I am so proud that you took my advice and learned to stand up for yourself.
You came to teach me, and therefore changed my life forever. At the age of four you were diagnosed with Addison's in addition to the problems
you already had with your hips. I asked you then how I could help you to get better and you said, "I will get better if you will get better." I listened, and as a result, you changed my life.
You also took on many other issues to help me. Thank you my Love. Hera, through your guidance you taught me how to live a healthy life, physically and mentally, and you also helped me to grow spiritually. Therefore, I will be grateful forever.
I will forever miss the softness of your fur, the beauty of your body, the touch of your nose, the tone of your voice and the physical presence
of your body.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming into my life to remind me of our soul connection. Now I know that we will always be together, and I am proud, honoured and happy about it.

There was a minute of silence on Sunday, October 29th, 2006 at 12 noon EST to honour Hera and her teachings.
