"An Angel who lived in the body of a dog."
Offer a kind word to a special being. Aging animals and animals with special needs deserve our support and respect.
One of the wonderful things about our animal friends is that they love us unconditionally, regardless of our physical and emotional imperfections. All of us deserve a caring, compassionate attitude from others that looks past a disability, or a body that is "different."
Like us, many of our animal friends have special needs or age-related conditions. They may limp or be less mobile, they may have in illness or
a visual or hearing impairment, or they might need a cart to help them get around. But none of these conditions mean that our friends can't still enjoy life, go for walks, play in the park, and share our company.
As a friend and advocate for our animal companions who have special needs or who are aging, I believe that we should treat those who are a little "different" with respect and compassion. All of us can be hurt deeply by a careless comment or laughter; we all deserve encouragement. Our friends have so much to offer, and teach us. They deserve to live with dignity.
So, when you see or meet an aging animal or an animal with special needs, give them your support, tell them how well they are doing, and how much you appreciate and admire them. Make this message come from your heart, and you will brighten a day in the life of a wonderful being.
Please share this thought with a friend, a family member, or a child today.
