There are millions of unwanted and abandoned dogs living in shelters or on the street who do not have a guardian
or even a safe place to sleep. Some of these wonderful beings are in desperate need of surgery either to save or
increase the quality of their lives.
Maja’s story is a case in point. Maja was a seven-month-old puppy when found in the middle of a road. Shot
twice and hit by a car, she was lying in a pool of blood, left to die. Maja needed hospitalization and major surgery.
Even though the veterinary hospital that treated Maja absorbed all of their costs, over $3,000 was still needed to
pay specialists for surgical treatment.
Fortunately, I heard about Maja and was able to help. Maja and dogs like her are the reason why I started the “DOGS
IN NEED” fund, a fund that will help dogs without guardians who are in need of surgery, either to save or improve
the quality of their lives. A portion of all the proceeds from Dogs’ Paradise Inc. will be donated to this
fund. Every time you participate in a workshop, buy my books or consult with me, you are helping dogs like Maja,
therefore I want to thank you.
Mady is another dog that I was fortunate to be able to help. She had come from a shelter to the Rottweiler Rescue
several months earlier. For her entire life she had been neglected, abused and unloved. As a result, she had growth-related
deformities in her back legs and was in pain. The condition was worsening and Mady couldn’t walk anymore and
was confined to a wheelchair. Her only hope was lifesaving corrective surgery that would reshape the badly damaged
bones in her hind legs. The surgeries were successful, and now Mady is able to run and enjoy a new life with the
loving family that adopted her.
